The Christ of Scripture (Luke 24:19-27ff)

With the passage of Thanksgiving and the approach of the Christmas Advent I wanted to begin a series which will take us through the Scriptures as they lead us to Christ.  Just a Christ lead the two men on the road through the scriptures beginning at Moses.  In one sense this is a task with every minister and teacher of the Word of God aspires to.  To reflect upon the presence of Christ in the whole of Scripture, we must also be faithful to the words which the Lord has provided to us.  As we examine these passages over the next few weeks, we will be spending time reflecting upon the magnificence of God’s wondrous promises, the nature of your relationship to God through Christ and the “Eternal Promise of the Christ” which is reflected in the fullness of the Word of God.

As the passage of Luke 24:19-27 presents how Christ himself opened their understanding by expounding the promises of his coming, of the necessity of his ultimate death upon the cross, and the importance of these truths as a whole, I hope to present to you the Christ of Scriptures, from the moment God began creation until the proclamation of his birth by the Angles to the Shepherds, as in the town of Bethlehem in a stable stall the King of Kings was born.
