Wickedness and Trials (Matthew 6:5-15 v13)

Christ’s instructions are intended to teach to ask for the help we need. To understand it is okay to ask for deliverance from trials, and from the wickedness which temptations bring to us daily.  Wickedness and Trials, as our sermon title addresses are to be part of the prayers which we secretly carry to the Lord.  As we face temptations, we remember Christ was tempted just like we are in the flesh, yet he never sinned (Heb 4:14-16), so we might recognize him as our Great High Priest, and also be bold in coming to the throne of grace, seek and obtain mercy and grace, as we are instructed.

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” (Hebrews 2:17–18, NKJV)
