Pastor Dennis Roe received his Master of Divinity degree from the Theological Seminary of the Reformed Episcopal Church in 1979. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from John Wesley College where he majored in Biblical Studies and minored in American History.
He is an ordained minister of the Reformed Church in the United States. He has served in the Reformed Church since 1983. He began his pastoral ministry by pioneering a new work in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, where he labored 13 years before coming to Grass Valley. In January of 1995 he accepted the call to organize a Reformed Church in Grass Valley. He moved here with his family in July of 1995.
He and his wife Julie, who is a surgical nurse at a local hospital, celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on August 20, 2008. They are blessed with four children and two grand children.
Pastor Roe's ministry reflects a strong commitment to Biblical expository preaching, teaching line upon line and precept upon precept, and counseling by making application directly from the Scriptures.
Having served in Viet Nam as a combat infantry soldier, where he was twice awarded the Silver Star for heroism, he is actively involved in a number of veteran associations. In particular, he serves as Chaplain for the 4th Cavalry Association. In this capacity, he conducts a memorial service at the 3/4 Cavalry's reunion held every other year and he occasionally writes a column in the 3/4 Cavalry's quarterly magazine, MacKenzie's Raiders. Pastor Roe also serves as general secretary of Westminster Biblical Missions, Inc. He has served in this capacity for over 19 years. This service involves overseeing all WBM's mission fields and missionaries which includes fields in Central and Eastern Europe, Mexico, and two fields in Pakistan. He has traveled to all of these fields. NOTE: Visit Westminster Biblical Missions' web site at http://wbminc.org
In addition, Pastor Roe serves as Dean of Students and as an adjunct professor of Missions and Evangelism for Sacramento City Seminary. City Seminary is a conservative evangelical institution committed to the Bible's Innerrancy. Therefore it trains its students to be thoroughly equipped in Biblical subjects so that they will be effective laborers in the Gospel for the advancement of Christ's kingdom.
